Planning Granted for Extension to Historic New Forest Cottage

Another ‘lockdown’ success as planning consent has been obtained for a sensitive extension to a historic New Forest cottage. Set in a picturesque rural location outside of the nearby village, the original cob cottage has been historically extended several times. The proposed extension provides a new larger utility room and improves circulation on the ground floor, with views through the hall to the garden beyond now possible from the front door. Internal alterations allow for the cottage to function as a more connected, modern family home while retaining its quirky rural character. On the first floor, the new extension contains a new ensuite and ensuite bathroom, the original bathroom becoming a dressing room, and a linen cupboard.
