Planning Consent for Two Striking projects in Hampshire and the New Forest.
We are delighted to have gained planning consent for these two projects.
The first is for a brand new, contemporary coastal villa, near the Hampshire coast. It features a design with an emphasis on crisp lines and texture. It takes account of its context (no predominant local vernacular style), landscape and sustainability and is designed to erode the divisions between indoor and outdoor spaces.
The ground floor is principally given over to a series of key living spaces, although volumes here and on the first floor vary with the inclusion of the double-height entrance/dining hall and sky window, making for a journey of spacial surprises throughout the house. The south-facing, glazed roof veranda, provides shading to the main living areas as well as an all-weather, outdoor entertaining space.
The second one is in the heart of the New Forest National Park. This dramatic re-modelling will transform the current house into a striking barn-style family home with an emphasis on future sustainability and low running costs. Respecting its immediate and wider surroundings, re-clothing the building in traditional New Forest finishing materials is a key element of the design.
