ORTHOPAEDIC VETERINARY PRACTICE

Working to a very tight design and construction programme, Pell-Stevens Architects designed the internal layout and refurbishment of an existing veterinary practice into the new specialist facility.

The provision of specialist CT scanning and X-ray equipment necessitated radiation-proofing to the rooms housing this equipment. The refurbishment also included a new reception and waiting area, consultation and sterilisation rooms, an operating theatre, canine and feline kennels, offices and staff facilities. Further specialist installations, such as piped medical gas, theatre lighting and fire-rated hygienic PVC wrapped doors were all included.

Careful consideration was given to the selection of materials that were compatible with the required hygiene standards and pet friendly. Notably, hypo-allergenic, slip resistant, waterproof floor finishes are installed in the highest traffic areas for visiting patients.
